What is Part F Ventilation Testing?
It is now a requirement to test ventilation systems in all new build developments, as per Part F of the Building regulations. Part F of the Building Regulations was updated in December 2010 applies to building ventilation requirements. The approved document ensures ventilation designers adhere to good practices and design when specifying ventilation systems.
Part F testing validates air flow measurements for new dwellings and ensures that the system has been configured correctly. There are 5 different ventilation types labelled as ‘Systems 1 – 5’. The systems range from simple background and intermittent fans, to whole house mechanical extract systems with heat recovery.
